The Chamber
Mission statement
For the benefit of our members, the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce shall create and facilitate contact and communication between individuals, corporations and organisations with the common goal of expanding commerce, industry and trade between Sweden and Switzerland.
About us
The initiative to form a long sought after Chamber of Commerce was taken by Mr Per Edholm, Swedish Consul General in Lausanne, and Mrs Birgitta Arve, Swedish Consul in Zürich. The Chamber was formally inaugurated on 7 May 2008.
Through our Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Patrons, who represent leading enterprises in our two countries, we are able to draw on a wealth of experience and expertise to support us in our activities on behalf of our members. Our Chairman is Mr Hans Ulrich Maerki.
The work is run by our Managing Director in Zürich, and our Office Managers in Zürich, Geneva and Lugano respectively.
The Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce is a networking organisation for companies and individuals, all of whom are interested, or engaged in, trade between Sweden and Switzerland. The objective of the Chamber is to promote, study, extend, advance and protect commercial and industrial relations between our two countries.
The Chamber strives to promote, and maintain, an extensive contact with influential organisations and companies in Sweden and Switzerland. This is emphasised in the Chamber's close contact with the Swedish and the Swiss Embassies, the Swedish Trade Council, and other Chambers of Commerce.
The aim for the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce is to create interesting forums where executives of companies can come together with leading figures from political, economic and business life in an informal atmosphere.
The business climate is changing rapidly and personal contacts are becoming more and more important. It is also of vital importance to know where to find the information necessary for your business.
A networking organisation, such as the Swedish Swiss Chamber of Commerce, is playing an ever-increasing role in finding information and communicating with people.
The Chambers is active through events of different kind and with different objectives. We will also produce a newsletter, where news are presented and articles describing the activities of the Chamber and its members are included.
